What a great morning at our stall in Penzance! The weather was perfect, we were serenaded for part of the time by students from Humphry Davy School and we met some lovely people.

It was good to hear that some of our visitors were converted Brexiters who now know that they were lied to and believe that we belong in the EU. Also, as well as existing members like Tony, there were those who were staunch Remainers/Rejoiners, but who weren’t already aware of Cornwall for Europe, so we now have 24 new members. A successful morning all round!

Next stall – Friday 16 June in Falmouth

We are hoping to hold our next stall on Friday 16 June, so by the time you’re reading this, the stall should have been and gone, and we will report on it next time.

If you’ve missed this one, there will be another soon so keep a look out for notices in the next newsletter, and on our Facebook and website events pages. We love to meet our members face to face whenever the opportunity arises and we want as many stickers as possible on our board each time! Plus, we always have our usual badges and Brexit stickers available. Come and join us – it’s fun!

European Movement – Market Access Campaign

As an affiliated group of the European Movement, Cornwall for Europe have signed up to take part in their latest campaign. The object is to build a dossier of statements from small businesses that have been adversely affected by Brexit, particularly in the field of import/export. The information will be gathered by means of an online survey and we will be distributing cards with access information, as well as talking to people on our stalls about this campaign. If you own, are involved with, or know someone who runs a small business that falls into this category, we would love to hear from you. You can email us at newsroom@cornwallforeurope.org, or comment on this article and we will get back to you with the relevant information.

National Rejoin March II

Unfortunately, although as we mentioned last time a specific day has been requested in the application to the GLC for permission to hold the next rejoin march in London, this has still not been approved, so we cannot give you the exact date. However, Cornwall for Europe will be planning to offer coach tickets as usual, so if you are planning to take part, keep the latter part of September free in your diaries. If you haven’t taken part in a London march before, it involves an early start, but it’s a brilliant day! Watch this newsletter, our Facebook page and our website for further information.
