Congratulations on being elected as the new MP for the …………………………………. constituency.
We are sure that you will be extremely busy over the coming weeks, assessing the priorities of your constituents, making contact with local councillors and getting to know the area from an MP’s perspective, and we wish you all the best in what will obviously be a demanding time.
However, as a Cornish campaign group with several thousand members and 29,000 Facebook followers, we would like to say how pleased we were that the issue of Brexit, the damage that it caused, and the UK’s relationship with the EU did eventually come into the pre-election discussion, at least for some of the parties. Needless to say, as a pro-EU organisation, we very much welcomed that development, and we are really looking forward to hearing about steps that might be taken by you and your party to repair and enhance the UK/EU relationship. *Most especially, we are keen to hear what your own plans might be to push the case for a closer relationship with the EU, given the personal views on Brexit that you expressed during the meeting that you attended recently with CfE.
