As this is our first newsletter issue since the AGM, your editorial team can’t avoid reporting on the AGM just held, even if it was a very straightforward affair and there are exhaustive minutes of the meeting drawn up by our ever-brilliant Secretary Bev. A very brief recap then.

To enable all our members to turn up, we decided to stick with the Zoom format for our AGMs, and welcomed everyone to the meeting at 7.30 pm on 4 October. The entire Executive Committee was present, of course, and about half of members who had signed up to join actually turned up. The usual business was dealt with quickly and efficiently – Chair, Treasurer and Secretary appointed/reappointed unopposed, and all others who had put themselves forward were also elected unopposed – and our Chair then deftly turned the discussion to ways in which we could expand our activities, sounding out members on their ideas.

The Executive Team is delighted to welcome three new members – John Lambourn, Sue Miller and Howard Hollingsbee – and we look forward to them injecting fresh ideas into our efforts to keep the EU flame alive.
