Hi Ros — sorry this didn’t land with you. Basically it’s a cartoon about economics — which can be tricky to satirise; we’re hearing a lot from Labour about the worst fiscal inheritance any incoming government has ever faced, the havoc caused by Liz Truss being only part of it; fair enough…but we still hear nothing about the crippling drag of Brexit (4-5% of GDP according to various analyses); nor do we hear of any concrete action to repair the damage — e.g. more alignment with the single market. This is the inconsistency that the ‘elephant in the room’ (who has been in the room a long time — look at those tusks!) is trying to point out — vainly I suspect.👋
